STUFF STEVEN BLUSH
< Back DC 1983-1985

As the harDCore promoter, I “discovered” the noise band No Trend and ran their label — releasing their first four discs (7”, 12” and two LPs), and a single by John Gibson’s fucked-funk band, Mission For Christ. Here’s No Trend commentary [link] from the American Hardcore book. Aside from those fiascos, I also once teamed with my friend promoter Dave Rubin (1962-2006), to record Class Band, one of his B-level, go-go funk acts. Suffice it say, we had no idea what we were doing behind a 24-track board. RIP, Dave.

"...despite our rather rapid rise, the association with Steven Blush was one
akin to selling ones soul to Beelzebub."
- Michael Salkind of No Trend
