Hardcore taught us to go for it with a do-it-yourself indie zeal. So with no writing, editorial or publishing experience, I started Seconds Magazine. Over those 15 years and 52 issues we did great interviews, broke taboos, and learned a lot. Longtime editor George Petros and I edited the Seconds book .45 Dangerous Minds. A very limited number of Seconds back issues are still available.
From 1986 through 2000, SECONDS Magazine redefined rock journalism with intellectual and infernal investigations of the world's most intense characters. Founded by Steven Blush (American Hardcore) and edited by George Petros (EXIT, Juxtapoz), SECONDS evolved from an essential Downtown New York underground music publication into the seminal source for definitive interviews with past, present and future icons of all musical genres.
